New Survival Game- The Ambitious Starter Home

Hello Friends! (click pictures to enlarge for gruesome details)

I, NoodlesNz have decided to start a completely new game of minecraft survival (normal difficulty) so that i can take progress screenshots and blog about it as i go... i dunno why, i guess i am kinda trying to do something different with my time, other then... you know... playing more minecraft... yes i know i'm an addict! I can't help it! This game is just amazing, so much freedom and adventure to be had. Its my GOTY, over everything else, Fallout New Vegas, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Plants vs Zombies, Red Dead Redemption, Halo Reach... i can't remember what else i have been playing, i don't want anything else now, this game has me! and may be stuck with me for quite some time now.

So i have been playing HEAPS (understatement) since i bought it, a week ago? two weeks? and have played many single player games, my best effort lasting 4-5 days (real days!) and taking up 26MB... which i thought was a decent effort. But now i start all over again, maybe just because i love seeing what kind of new world the game will generate for me, but also because i hope to document my building efforts in this blog, a little minecraft writing project for me!

ACTUAL STORY STARTS HERE: I think i started on a small sandy island, environment relatively normal looking, apart from a strange floating bit of land above a channel of water. I LOVE IT!!! i decide i must live on that strange floaty island. I find plenty of wood and coal nearby and build a temporary dirt bridge to the chunk of hovering land.

Very little is accomplished the first night... actually nothing is accomplished... i sit there watching baddies on the hills nearby. Waiting for that big square sun to return! Wish i had a blocky tv to watch.

Over the next few days i collect plenty of stone for stone tools, more wood, and sand to make glass. I took a very exciting trip around the massive lake and found large deposits of clay on the coast! I came home with over 600 units! this is thrown in the furnaces to turn into bricks.

Above is one of the Epic sand islands found during my little boaty tour... I had never seen so much clay before, there was more under water, and it went all around the side of the island, it was like christmas, well... minecraft christmas... for brick enthusiasts.

And so the floaty island began to evolve:

Thankyou for reading! Tonight i begin work on a garden area and i hope to do some serious mining... though dark caverns do make me very nervous... dam cave zombies. See you soon!
